Udyoga Parva, Chapter 81: Krishna Sets Out as Envoy
शक्ष्यन्ति हि महाबाहो पाण्डवा: सूंजयैः सह । धार्रराष्ट्रबलं घोरें क्रुद्धं प्रतिसमासितुम्,महाबाहो! पाण्डवलोग सूंजय वीरोंके साथ क्रोधमें भरी हुई दुर्योधनकी भयंकर सेनाका अच्छी तरह सामना कर सकते हैं
śakṣyanti hi mahābāho pāṇḍavāḥ sañjayaiḥ saha | dhārtarāṣṭra-balaṃ ghoraṃ kruddhaṃ pratisamāsitum ||
Vaiśaṃpāyana said: “O mighty-armed one, the Pāṇḍavas, together with the Sañjayas, will indeed be able to withstand and firmly confront the dreadful, wrathful army of the Dhārtarāṣṭras.”
वैशम्पायन उवाच
The verse emphasizes steadfast capability in the face of an enraged and fearsome opposing force. Ethically, it frames courage and preparedness—supported by allies—as necessary virtues when conflict becomes unavoidable, especially within a dharma-charged struggle.
Vaiśaṃpāyana asserts that the Pāṇḍavas, along with the Sañjayas, are capable of meeting and resisting the terrible, anger-driven army of the Dhārtarāṣṭras—signaling confidence in their strength and readiness as war approaches in the Udyoga Parva.
