Dhṛtarāṣṭra–Duryodhana Dialogue on Peace and the Refusal of Compromise
येषु सम्प्रतितिष्ठेयु: कुरव: पीडिता: परै: । ते युद्ध नाभिनन्दन्ति तत् तुभ्यं तात रोचताम्,शत्रुओंसे पीड़ित होनेपर कौरवसैनिक जिनके आश्रयमें खड़े हो सकते हैं, वे ही लोग युद्धका अनुमोदन नहीं कर रहे हैं। तात! उनके इस विचारको तुम्हें भी पसंद करना चाहिये
yeṣu sampratitiṣṭheyuḥ kuravaḥ pīḍitāḥ paraiḥ | te yuddhaṃ nābhinandanti tat tubhyaṃ tāta rocatām ||
Those very persons on whom the Kurus, when oppressed by their enemies, could firmly rely—those persons do not approve of war. Therefore, dear son, let their judgment be acceptable to you as well.
