देवै्हि सम्भूतो दिव्यो रथो गाण्डीवधन्चन: । न स जेयो मनुष्येण मा सम कृढद्ध्वं मनो युधि
dhṛṣṭadyumna uvāca—idaṃ māṃ vaco gatasādhvasam | devaiḥ sambhūto divyo ratho gāṇḍīvadhanvanaḥ | na sa jeyo manuṣyeṇa mā sma kṛdhvaṃ mano yudhi ||
Dhṛṣṭadyumna said: “Heed this word of mine, spoken without fear. The chariot of Arjuna, wielder of the Gāṇḍīva, is divine and upheld by the gods. No mere human can conquer him; therefore do not set your minds on seeking battle against him.”
धृष्टद्युम्न उवाचेदं मां वचो गतसाध्वसम् |
Dhṛṣṭadyumna urges strategic and ethical prudence: when a warrior is divinely supported and effectively unconquerable by ordinary means, reckless aggression is folly; one should restrain the impulse toward war and weigh consequences.
In the Udyoga Parva’s pre-war deliberations, Dhṛṣṭadyumna warns others about Arjuna’s exceptional, god-supported martial power—especially his divine chariot and the Gāṇḍīva—counseling them not to fix their minds on fighting him as if he were an ordinary opponent.
