Sainyasaṅgraha and Bhāga-Vyavasthā (Forces Assembled and Rival Allocations) | सैन्यसंग्रह-भागव्यवस्था
एतानेतावतस्तत्र तानपश्यं समागतान् | ये पाण्डवार्थे योत्स्यन्ति धार्तराष्ट्रस्य वाहिनीम्,मैंने इन सबको इतनी सेनाओंके साथ वहाँ आया हुआ देखा है। ये लोग पाण्डवोंके हितके लिये दुर्योधनकी सेनाके साथ युद्ध करेंगे
etānetāvatastatra tān apaśyaṁ samāgatān | ye pāṇḍavārthe yotsyanti dhārtarāṣṭrasya vāhinīm ||
Sañjaya said: There I beheld all those warriors assembled in such strength. They are the ones who, for the sake of the Pāṇḍavas, will fight against the army of Dhṛtarāṣṭra’s son.
संजय उवाच
The verse highlights the ethical axis of allegiance: warriors align themselves with the Pāṇḍavas because they regard their cause as just, implying that dharma can outweigh ties to the ruling power or even to one’s broader clan.
Sañjaya reports to the blind king Dhṛtarāṣṭra what he has seen: many warriors have gathered, and these are the fighters who intend to wage war on behalf of the Pāṇḍavas against the Kaurava host.
