वैशम्पायन उवाच
The verse models dharmic service: a wise person offers readiness to act, but waits for rightful instruction. It highlights humility, obedience to legitimate authority, and the ethical discipline of acting from duty rather than personal agenda.
Vidura formally announces his arrival, stating he has come because he was summoned. He then asks what task should be done, presenting himself as available for service and guidance within the unfolding diplomatic tensions of the Udyoga Parva.
