संजय उवाच संजयो<हं भूमिपते नमस्ते प्राप्तोडस्मि गत्वा नरदेव पाण्डवान् | अभिवाद्य त्वां पाण्डुपुत्रो मनस्वी युधिष्िर: कुशलं चान्वपृच्छत्,संजय बोला--भूपाल! आपको नमस्कार है। नरदेव! मैं संजय हूँ और पाण्डवोंके पास जाकर लौटा हूँ। उदारचित्त पाण्डुपुत्र युधिष्ठिरे आपको प्रणाम करके आपकी कुशल पूछी है
sañjaya uvāca— sañjayo ’haṃ bhūmipate namas te prāpto ’smi gatvā naradeva pāṇḍavān | abhivādya tvāṃ pāṇḍuputro manasvī yudhiṣṭhiraḥ kuśalaṃ cānvapṛcchat ||
Sanjaya said: “O lord of the land, salutations to you. O king among men, I am Sanjaya; having gone to the Pāṇḍavas, I have now returned. The high-minded son of Pāṇḍu, Yudhiṣṭhira, after paying you respectful homage, inquired after your welfare.”
संजय उवाच
Even amid looming conflict, dharmic conduct is maintained through respectful address, proper greetings, and concern for the other party’s welfare—signs of restraint and ethical diplomacy.
Sanjaya reports back at the Kuru court to Dhṛtarāṣṭra after visiting the Pāṇḍavas, conveying that Yudhiṣṭhira respectfully greeted the king and asked about his well-being.
