Adhyāya 195 — Arjuna’s Capability and Restraint Regarding Divyāstras
Udyoga Parva
द्रौपदेयान् महेष्वासानभिमन्युं च पाण्डव: । नकुल॑ सहदेवं च सर्वाश्विव प्रभद्रकान्
vaiśampāyana uvāca | draupadeyān maheṣvāsān abhimanyuṃ ca pāṇḍavaḥ | nakulaṃ sahadevaṃ ca sarvāśviva-prabhadrakān | bhīmasenasya durdharṣaṃ prathamaṃ prādiśad balam ||
Vaiśampāyana said: The Pāṇḍava (Yudhiṣṭhira), after assigning the mighty bowmen—the sons of Draupadī, Abhimanyu, Nakula and Sahadeva, along with all the Prabhadraka warriors—placed the first, hard-to-assail division of the army under the command of Bhīmasena.

Even in war, dharma expresses itself as disciplined responsibility: authority and force should be entrusted to the most capable leader, and collective strength should be organized to protect the wider cause rather than driven by personal impulse.
As preparations for conflict intensify, Yudhiṣṭhira organizes the Pāṇḍava forces and assigns the first formidable division—comprising key heroes like the Draupadeyas, Abhimanyu, Nakula, Sahadeva, and the Prabhadrakas—under Bhīma’s command.
