Bhīṣma’s Account of the Strategic Engagement with Rāma Jāmadagnya
न त्वां रामो रणे जेता जामदग्न्य: कथंचन । त्वमेव समरे राम॑ विजेता भरतर्षभ,“जमदग्निकुमार परशुराम तुम्हें किसी प्रकार युद्धमें जीत नहीं सकेंगे। भरतभूषण! तुम्हीं रणक्षेत्रमें परशुरामपर विजय पाओगे
na tvāṁ rāmo raṇe jetā jāmadagnyaḥ kathaṁcana | tvam eva samare rāma vijetā bharatarṣabha ||
Bhīṣma said: “Rāma Jāmadagnya (Paraśurāma) will not defeat you in battle—by no means. Rather, O bull among the Bharatas, it is you alone who will be victorious over Rāma in the clash.”
