Bhishma’s Account of Parashurama’s Challenge and the March to Kurukshetra
अस्त्रैरेव महाबाहो चिकीर्षन्नधिकां क्रियाम् इसके पश्चात् प्रतापी परशुरामजीने मेरे ऊपर दिव्यास्त्रोंका प्रयोग आरम्भ किया; परंतु महाबाहो! मैंने उनसे भी अधिक पराक्रम प्रकट करनेकी इच्छा रखकर उन सब अस्त्रोंका दिव्यास्त्रोंद्ारा ही निवारण कर दिया

Bhīṣma said: “O mighty-armed one, Paraśurāma, blazing with prowess, began to employ divine missiles against me. Yet, desiring to display still greater valor, I countered each of those weapons with corresponding divine weapons, nullifying them.”
