Bhishma said: “O king, thereafter my charioteer—skilled in his duty and held in high esteem—removed the embedded shafts from my own body, and also from the horses.”
भीष्म उवाच
Even amid violent conflict, dharma expresses itself through competent, compassionate service: the charioteer fulfills his role by tending to the wounded warrior and horses, showing that duty includes protection and care, not only combat.
After a fierce exchange of weapons, Bhishma narrates that his charioteer removed the arrows lodged in Bhishma’s body and in the horses, restoring their ability to continue and highlighting the practical support systems within warfare.
