अम्बा–राम–भीष्म संवादः
Amba–Rama–Bhishma Dialogue on Vow and Refuge
ते हयाश्नोदितास्तेन सूतेन परमाहवे । अवहन् मां भूशं राजन् मनोमारुतरंहस:
te hayāś coditās tena sūtena paramāhave | avahan māṁ bhṛśaṁ rājan manomārutaraṁhasaḥ ||
Bhīṣma said: “O King, those horses of mine—swift as thought and as the wind—urged on by that charioteer, carried me with great speed and in no time brought me to the field of that mighty battle.”
भीष्म उवाच
The verse highlights disciplined readiness and effective agency in action: when the means (horses) are excellent and the guide (charioteer) is competent, one reaches the appointed duty swiftly—an implicit praise of preparedness and skilled support in righteous undertakings.
Bhīṣma describes to the king how his exceptionally swift horses, driven by his charioteer, quickly transported him to the site of a great battle, emphasizing the speed and urgency of his arrival.
