अम्बा–राम–भीष्म संवादः
Amba–Rama–Bhishma Dialogue on Vow and Refuge
अतदर्हा महाभागा भगीरथसुतानघा । या त्वामजीजनन्मन्दं युद्धकामुकमातुरम्
atadarhā mahābhāgā bhagīrathasutānaghā | yā tvām ajījanan mandaṃ yuddhakāmukam āturam ||
Bhishma said: “The noble, sinless Ganga—daughter of Bhagiratha—does not truly deserve to witness such suffering. Yet, since she gave birth to you—foolish, fevered with impatience, and enamored of war—she must inevitably bear this pain.”
भीष्म उवाच
Uncontrolled craving for war and rashness bring suffering not only upon oneself but also upon the innocent; even a blameless person may be forced to endure pain due to the actions and choices of those connected to them.
Bhishma addresses a war-eager prince, lamenting that the pure and noble Ganga does not deserve such grief, yet must endure it because she bore a son driven by impatience and fascination with battle.
