भीष्म–दुर्योधनसंवादः — शिखण्डिनं न हन्तुं कारणकथनम्
Amba-ākhyāna prologue
स योत्स्यति हि विक्रम्य समरे तव सैनिकै: । राजेन्द्र! राजा सेनाबिन्दुका दूसरा नाम क्रोधहन्ता भी है। प्रभो! वे भगवान् श्रीकृष्ण तथा भीमसेनके समान पराक्रमी माने जाते हैं। वे समरांगणमें तुम्हारे सैनिकोंके साथ पराक्रम प्रकट करते हुए युद्ध करेंगे
sa yotsyati hi vikramya samare tava sainikaiḥ | rājendra |
Bhīṣma said: “For he will indeed fight—advancing with valor—on the battlefield against your soldiers, O best of kings.” In context, Bhīṣma underscores the inevitability of war once such a warrior has resolved to display his prowess, reminding the king that martial strength, when set in motion, compels grave ethical and strategic reckoning.
भीष्म उवाच
Once a warrior of resolve and prowess steps forward, conflict becomes difficult to avert; therefore a king must weigh dharma, consequences, and strategy before allowing matters to reach the battlefield.
Bhīṣma addresses the king and states that a particular warrior will certainly engage in battle, advancing boldly and meeting the king’s troops in combat.
