भीष्म–दुर्योधनसंवादः — शिखण्डिनं न हन्तुं कारणकथनम्
Amba-ākhyāna prologue
सेनाबिन्दुश्न राजेन्द्र क्रोधहन्ता च नामतः । यः समो वासुदेवेन भीमसेनेन वा विभो
senābinduśn rājendra krodhahantā ca nāmataḥ | yaḥ samo vāsudevena bhīmasenena vā vibho ||
Bhīṣma said: “O king, there is one called Senābinduśna, and by name he is also known as ‘the slayer of wrath’ (Krodhahantā). He is a man equal in prowess to Vāsudeva, or even to Bhīmasena, O mighty one.”
भीष्म उवाच
True power is not only physical might but also mastery over anger; being called ‘Krodhahantā’ frames self-control as a heroic virtue alongside martial excellence.
Bhīṣma is describing and evaluating notable figures, highlighting a warrior named Senābinduśna—also known as Krodhahantā—and elevating him by comparing his prowess to celebrated standards like Kṛṣṇa (Vāsudeva) and Bhīma (Bhīmasena).
