ते स्मरन्तश्न संग्रामे चरिष्यन्ति च रुद्रवत् । द्यूतक्रीड़ाके समय द्रौपदीको जो महान् क्लेश दिया गया और पाण्डवोंके प्रति कठोर बातें सुनायी गयीं
te smarantas tu saṅgrāme cariṣyanti ca rudravat | dyūtakrīḍā-kāle draupadyā mahān kleśo yaḥ pradattaḥ pāṇḍavān prati ca kaṭhorāṇi vacāṃsi śrāvitāni tāni sarvāṇi smṛtvā te raṇabhūmau rudrasamaṃ vicariṣyanti |
Bhishma said: Remembering, in the midst of battle, the great humiliation inflicted upon Draupadi at the time of the dice-game—and the harsh words hurled against the Pandavas—they will range across the battlefield like Rudra, driven by the moral outrage of that wrong and the resolve to answer it through war.
