Sāma–Bheda–Daṇḍa
दुर्योधन निबोधेदं यत् त्वां वक्ष्यामि पुत्रक । तथा तत् कुरु भद्रें ते यद्यस्ति पितृगौरवम्
duryodhana nibodhedaṁ yat tvāṁ vakṣyāmi putraka | tathā tat kuru bhadraṁ te yady asti pitṛgauravam ||
Vāyu said: “Duryodhana, understand this—listen to what I am about to tell you, my son. May it be for your good. If you have even a trace of reverence for your father, then do exactly as I instruct.”
वायुदेव उवाच
The verse frames ethical persuasion through filial duty: if Duryodhana truly honors his father, he should heed corrective counsel and act for welfare rather than stubborn self-will.
Vāyudeva directly addresses Duryodhana, urging him to listen carefully and to follow the forthcoming instruction, appealing to his respect for his father as a moral lever.
