ययातिपतन-कारणम् (The Cause of Yayāti’s Fall) — Nārada’s Counsel on Pride and Reconciliation
यत् फलं दानशीलस्य क्षमाशीलस्य यत् फलम् | यच्च मे फलमाधाने तेन संयुज्यतां भवान्
yat phalaṁ dānaśīlasya kṣamāśīlasya yat phalam | yac ca me phalam ādhāne tena saṁyujyatāṁ bhavān ||
Narada said: “May you be endowed with the merit that accrues to one devoted to giving, with the merit gained by one devoted to forgiveness, and with whatever merit is destined to come to me from the performance of Vedic rites such as establishing the sacred fire. May all these forms of holy reward unite in you.”
