ययातिपतन-कारणम् (The Cause of Yayāti’s Fall) — Nārada’s Counsel on Pride and Reconciliation
यथा यथा हि जल्पन्ति दौहित्रास्तं नराधिपम् । तथा तथा वसुमतीं त्यक्त्वा राजा दिवं ययौ
yathā yathā hi jalpanti dauhitrās taṃ narādhipam | tathā tathā vasumatīṃ tyaktvā rājā divaṃ yayau ||
Nārada said: As the grandsons spoke to that king again and again in those very terms, so too, step by step, the monarch—relinquishing the earth—advanced toward heaven.
