Gālava’s Eastern Ascent with Garuḍa; Counsel on Kāla and Upāya (उद्योगपर्व, अध्याय ११०)

यहाँ सहस्ौ्रों नेत्रों, सहस्रों चरणों और सहस्रों मस्तकोंवाले एकमात्र अविनाशी श्रीमान्‌ भगवान्‌ विष्णु ही उन मायाविशिष्ट महेश्वरका साक्षात्कार करते हैं ।।

Here indeed the glorious, imperishable Lord Viṣṇu—one alone, with a thousand eyes, a thousand feet, and a thousand heads—by the power of māyā grants the direct vision of Maheśvara. Here too, under the sovereignty of the Brahmins, the Moon was consecrated to his station. Here as well Mahādeva caught upon his head the Gaṅgā as she fell from the sky.
