Svargārohaṇa-parva Adhyāya 2 — Yudhiṣṭhira’s Inquiry for His Kin and the Vision of a Punitive Realm

देवा ऊचु यदि वै तत्र ते श्रद्धा गम्यतां पुत्र मा चिरम्‌ । प्रिये हि तव वर्तामो देवराजस्य शासनात्‌,देवता बोले--वत्स! यदि उन लोगोंमें तुम्हारी श्रद्धा है तो चलो, विलम्ब न करो। हम लोग देवराजकी आज्ञासे सर्वथा तुम्हारा प्रिय करना चाहते हैं

devā ūcuḥ yadi vai tatra te śraddhā gamyatāṃ putra mā ciram | priye hi tava vartāmo devarājasya śāsanāt ||

The gods said: “If indeed your faith is set upon them there, then come—do not delay, dear son. For we are acting for what is pleasing to you, in obedience to the command of the King of the gods.”
