स्त्री-विलापः — गान्धार्याः रणभूमिदर्शनं शापवचनं च

Battlefield Lament and Gāndhārī’s Curse

विन्दानुविन्दावावन्त्यौ पतितौ पश्य माधव । हिमान्ते पुप्पितो शालौ मरुता गलिताविव,माधव! जैसे ग्रीष्म-ऋतुमें हवाके वेगसे दो खिले हुए शालवृक्ष गिर गये हों, उसी प्रकार अवन्तीदेशके दोनों वीर राजपुत्र विन्द और अनुविन्द धराशायी हो गये हैं, इनपर दृष्टिपात करो

“O Mādhava, look—Vinda and Anuvinda, the two heroic princes of Avanti, have fallen to the ground. As in the heat of summer two flowering sāla trees are brought down by the force of the wind, so have they been laid low.”
