Treasury Security, Protection of Informants, and the Kalakavṛkṣīya Exemplum (Śānti Parva 83)
सर्वकामान् परित्यज्य तपस्तप्तं तदा मया । स्नेहात् त्वां तु ब्रवीम्येतन्मा भूयो विभ्रमेदिति
sarvakāmān parityajya tapas taptaṁ tadā mayā | snehāt tvāṁ tu bravīmy etan mā bhūyo vibhramed iti ||
Bhīṣma said: “Having renounced all desires, I then undertook austerity. Out of affection for you, I tell you this—so that you may not again fall into delusion and be led astray.”
