Bhishma said: Thus, in the Śrī Mahābhārata, within the Śānti Parva—specifically in the section on the instruction regarding the duties of kings (Rājadharmānuśāsana Parva)—the seventy-fifth chapter concludes. This closing formula marks the completion of the chapter’s teaching on righteous governance and the ethical foundations of royal conduct.
भीष्य उवाच
This verse is a colophon rather than a doctrinal statement: it signals the completion of the chapter within the Rājadharma (royal duty) instruction. Its function is to frame the preceding material as authoritative guidance on ethical kingship and governance.
Bhīṣma’s discourse continues in the Śānti Parva; here the text formally closes the seventy-fifth chapter of the Rājadharmānuśāsana section, marking a transition point before the next chapter begins.
