When governance is aligned with dharma, public welfare (yogakṣema) arises naturally and the Vedic ethical-religious disciplines spread widely; social stability and virtue reinforce each other.
In Śānti Parva, Bhīṣma instructs Yudhiṣṭhira on righteous rule and social order; here he emphasizes that under dharmic conditions the people’s welfare is secured and Vedic virtues flourish throughout society.
