एकैकमात्मन: कर्म तुलयित्वा55श्रमं पुरा । राजान: पर्युपासन्त दृष्टान्तवचने स्थिता:
Translation
In former times, those kings weighed each duty of the āśramas one by one against daṇḍanīti, and doubt arose in them as to which was superior. Therefore, to know the final conclusion, they worshiped the Lord in devoted attendance.
