Thus, in the Śrī Mahābhārata, within the Śānti Parva—specifically in the Rājadharmānuśāsana section on the king’s dharma—the forty-seventh chapter, concerning Bhīṣma’s praise of the king, is concluded. This colophon marks a transition in the ethical discourse on kingship, closing a unit devoted to the ideals and duties of righteous rule.

This line is a colophon rather than a doctrinal verse; its ethical significance is structural: it closes a chapter within the Rājadharma instruction, emphasizing that the discourse is organized as formal guidance on righteous kingship and governance.
Vaiśampāyana marks the completion of the forty-seventh chapter in the Śānti Parva’s Rājadharmānuśāsana section, specifically a chapter centered on Bhīṣma’s praise and discussion relating to the king, before the text proceeds to the next unit.
