Vaiśampāyana said: Those bull-like men set out in chariots vast as cities, and with the mighty roar of their wheels they made the earth tremble as they sped onward—an image of irresistible momentum and royal power harnessed to a purposeful course.
वैशम्पायन उवाच
The verse underscores how great power and status (symbolized by immense chariots and earth-shaking sound) are ethically meaningful only when directed with firm purpose; it frames heroic energy as something to be harnessed toward a chosen course rather than mere display.
Vaiśampāyana describes eminent heroes departing swiftly in enormous, city-like chariots; the thunder of their wheels is so intense that it seems to shake the earth, emphasizing the scale and urgency of their movement.
