Kṛṣṇa’s Dhyāna and the Prompt to Question Bhīṣma (कृष्णध्यानं भीष्मप्रश्नप्रेरणा च)
yad bhavān āha bhīṣmasya prabhāvaṃ prati mādhava | tathā tan nātra saṃdeho vidyate mama mādhava ||
“Mādhava, whatever you have spoken regarding Bhīṣma’s extraordinary power and stature is indeed so. On this point there is no doubt at all in my mind.”
वासुदेव उवाच
The verse models ethical speech: acknowledging truthfully and without envy the greatness of a revered elder (Bhīṣma), and affirming confidence when a matter is clear—free from needless doubt.
Vāsudeva responds to Mādhava’s statement about Bhīṣma’s extraordinary influence and prowess, explicitly agreeing and declaring that he has no doubt about it.
