Yudhiṣṭhira’s Post-Accession Settlements and Approach to Vāsudeva (युधिष्ठिरस्य राज्यस्थापनं वासुदेवाभिगमनं च)
वयं राज्यमनुप्राप्ता: पृथिवी च वशे स्थिता । तव प्रसादाद् भगवंस्त्रिलोकगतिविक्रम
vayaṁ rājyam anuprāptāḥ pṛthivī ca vaśe sthitā | tava prasādād bhagavaṁs trilokagati-vikrama
Vaiśaṃpāyana said: “By your gracious favor, O venerable one—whose stride and prowess reach the destinies of the three worlds—we have attained sovereignty, and the earth itself now stands under our control.”
वैशम्पायन उवाच
The verse frames political success and sovereignty as dependent on higher grace and moral legitimacy, emphasizing humility and the idea that power is not merely seized but sanctioned through righteous favor.
