Service to Dhṛtarāṣṭra and Allocation of State Duties
यान् यानमन्यद् योग्यांश्व येषु येष्विह कर्मसु । तांस्तांस्तेष्वेव युयुजे प्रीयमाणो महीपति:
yān yān anyad yogyānś ca yeṣu yeṣv iha karmasu | tāṁs tāṁs teṣv eva yuyuje prīyamāṇo mahīpatiḥ ||
Vaiśampāyana said: Pleased at heart, King Yudhiṣṭhira appointed each person to precisely those duties for which he judged them fit, assigning the right individual to the right work in the governance of the realm.
वैशम्पायन उवाच
A king upholding rājadharma assigns responsibilities according to competence (yogyatā), ensuring that each duty is performed by the most suitable person; ethical governance depends on proper placement and accountability.
After becoming settled and pleased, Yudhiṣṭhira organizes administration by appointing various people to the specific tasks he deems them qualified to perform, indicating a transition from turmoil to orderly rule.
