नाग उवाच अभिमानैर्न मानो मे जातिदोषेण वै महान् । रोष: संकल्पज: साध्वि दग्धो वागग्निना त्वया
Translation
The Nāga said: “O noble lady! It is not that pride born of ego has arisen in me; rather, because of the fault of my birth (jāti-doṣa), a great wrath had filled me. That wrath, born of my resolve, you have now burned to ashes with the fire of your words.”
