Prāyaścitta-vidhāna: Tapas, Dāna, Vrata, and Proportional Expiation (प्रायश्चित्तविधानम्)
निर्मन्त्रो निर्व॒तों यः स्थादशास्त्रज्ञो3नसूयक: । अनुक्रोशात् प्रदातव्यं हीनेष्वव्रतिकेषु च
One who is without mantras and without vows, yet stands content, finding no fault in others—though lacking knowledge of the Veda and the śāstras—should be given charity out of compassion. Likewise, to the poor and lowly who are without observances, one should give, moved by mercy.
