ततः प्रभातसमये सो$तिथिस्तेन पूजित: । ब्राह्मणेन यथाशकक्त्या स्वकार्यमभिकाड्क्षता,फिर सबेरा होनेपर अपने कार्यकी सिद्धि चाहने-वाले उस ब्राह्मणद्वारा यथाशक्ति सम्मानित हो वह अतिथि चला गया
tataḥ prabhātasamaye so ’tithis tena pūjitaḥ | brāhmaṇena yathāśaktyā svakāryam abhikāṅkṣatā ||
Then, at daybreak, that guest—having been honored by him to the best of his ability—departed. And the brāhmaṇa, intent on accomplishing his own purpose, continued in seeking the fulfillment of his task.
भीष्म उवाच
One should honor a guest according to one’s means (yathāśaktyā), even while pursuing personal objectives; dharma is upheld through respectful hospitality and proper conduct.
At dawn, the guest who has been duly honored departs; the brāhmaṇa, focused on achieving his intended purpose, continues toward the completion of his own task after fulfilling the duty of receiving the guest.
