Vyāsa said: “Offer reverence to him who is the lord of the Aśvins, the lord of the Maruts, the sovereign over the Vedas and the sacrifices, and also the master of the Vedāṅgas. Bow to him.”
व्यास उवाच
The verse teaches reverence toward the supreme divine authority who presides over Vedic knowledge and sacrificial order; honoring that source is presented as a dharmic orientation toward sacred learning and right ritual.
Vyāsa is describing the object of salutation by listing divine domains—Aśvins, Maruts, Veda, yajña, and Vedāṅgas—thereby identifying a highest lord who governs these powers and disciplines and instructing that he should be honored.
