Mahāvasu’s Fall by Speech-Error and Release through Devotion (अज-विवादः वसोः शापः विमोचनं च)

अरण्यामेव सहसा तस्य शुक्रमवापतत्‌ । होनहार होकर ही रहती है; इसलिये व्यासजी घृताचीके रूपसे आकृष्ट हो गये। अग्नि प्रकट करनेकी इच्छासे अपने कामवेगको यत्नपूर्वक रोकते हुए महर्षि व्यासका वीर्य सहसा उस अरणीकाष्ठ पर ही गिर पड़ा ।।

Bhīṣma said: By the force of what was destined to be, Vyāsa was drawn to the form of Ghṛtācī. And as the great ṛṣi Vyāsa strove to restrain the surge of desire, intent on bringing forth fire from the araṇi, his seed suddenly fell upon that very araṇi-wood.
