Bhishma said: Having heard, from others’ mouths, an exceedingly subtle discourse concerning the Supreme Brahman, Sulabhā became doubtful—wondering whether the reports she had heard about King Janaka were true or not. When this uncertainty arose, a firm resolve was born in her heart to go and see Janaka for herself.

Subtle spiritual claims should be tested through direct inquiry and discernment rather than accepted merely on reputation; sincere doubt can mature into a disciplined search for truth.
After hearing highly refined teachings about Brahman and about Janaka’s famed spiritual stature, Sulabhā becomes uncertain whether the praise is accurate; she therefore resolves to meet Janaka personally.
