Śuka’s Guṇa-Transcendence and Vyāsa’s Consolation (शुकगति-वर्णनम्)

मत्यक्षसंश्रयाच्चायं शृणु यस्ते व्यतिक्रम: । आश्रयन्त्या: स्वभावेन मम पूर्वपरिग्रहम्‌

Listen: leaning on the impulse of desire, and following your own nature, you have sought to take refuge in my former body. Therefore, by taking shelter on my side—by entering into my body—a transgression has arisen from you; I shall tell it—hear me.
