“And having begotten many sons who would carry forward the lineage, after a long span of time, O King, he at last met the law of Time—passing on in accordance with mortality.”
पर्वत उवाच
Even after fulfilling worldly duties such as continuing one’s lineage, every being ultimately comes under kāla-dharma—the inevitable order of Time and death. The verse underscores impermanence and the universality of mortality within dharma.
Parvata tells the king that the person being described fathered many sons who sustained the family line, and then, after a long life, passed away—reaching the destiny governed by Time.
