सुवर्णष्ठीविनोपाख्यानम्
The Account of Suvarṇaṣṭhīvin
तदनन्तर शोकसे पड़ित हो उसकी माताएँ रोती हुई उस स्थानकी ओर दौड़ीं, जहाँ राजा सूंजय विलाप करते थे ।। ततः स राजा सस्मार मामेव गतमानस: । तदाहं चिन्तन ज्ञात्वा गतवांस्तस्य दर्शनम्
tataḥ sa rājā sasmāra mām eva gatamānasaḥ | tadāhaṃ cintanaṃ jñātvā gatavāṃs tasya darśanam ||
Then that king, his mind overwhelmed and withdrawn into grief, remembered me alone. Knowing this through my contemplative insight, I went to meet him and grant him my presence.
पर्वत उवाच
In extreme sorrow, turning the mind toward a trusted spiritual guide (smaraṇa/remembering) becomes the doorway to guidance and inner steadiness; compassionate response follows when the guide recognizes the seeker’s mental state.
A grieving king, mentally overwhelmed, remembers Parvata; perceiving this remembrance through contemplative knowledge, Parvata goes to meet him, setting up a consoling or instructive encounter.
