The Account of Suvarṇaṣṭhīvin
स तमुत्सड़मारोप्य परिपीडितमानस: । पुत्र रुधिरसंसिक्तं पर्यदेवयदातुर:
sa tam utsaḍam āropya paripīḍita-mānasaḥ | putra-rudhira-saṃsiktaṃ paryadevayad āturaḥ ||
With his mind crushed by anguish, he lifted the body and set it upon a heap of refuse; then, seeing his son smeared with blood, he lamented on every side in desperate distress.
पर्वत उवाच
The verse highlights the ethical and psychological truth that intense personal loss can overpower composure and judgment; it invites reflection on compassion, the consequences of violence, and the need for steadiness in dharma even amid sorrow.
