The Account of Suvarṇaṣṭhīvin
एवमुक्तस्तु शक्रेण वज्ञ: परपुरञण्जय: । कुमारमन्तरप्रेक्षी नित्यमेवान्वपद्यत,इन्द्रके ऐसा कहनेपर शत्रुओंकी नगरीपर विजय पानेवाला वज्र मौका देखता हुआ सदा उस राजकुमारके आस-पास ही रहने लगा
evam uktas tu śakreṇa vajraḥ parapurañjayaḥ | kumāram antaraprekṣī nityam evānvapadyata ||
Thus addressed by Śakra (Indra), the Vajra—renowned as the conqueror of enemy cities—watched for an opening and thereafter remained constantly close to that prince, attending him in readiness.
पर्वत उवाच
Once a duty is entrusted by a rightful authority, one should remain steadfast, vigilant, and ready—seeking the proper moment to act while maintaining constant protective presence.
After Indra speaks, the Vajra (thunderbolt), famed for overcoming enemy strongholds, stays close to a prince, watching for the right opportunity and continually attending him.
