अव्यक्त-गुण-पुरुषविवेकः | Avyakta, Guṇas, and Discrimination of Puruṣa

अलिड्जा प्रकृतिं त्वाहुर्लिज्जिरनुमिमीमहे । तथैव पौरुषं लिड्रमनुमानाद्धि मन्यते
Translation
Vasiṣṭha said: “The sages declare Prakṛti to be without any distinguishing mark (liṅga); yet we can only infer it through particular reasons. In the same way, the nature—or even the very existence—of the Puruṣa is known only by inference.”
