इमा हि देवता: सर्वा ऋषयश्न परंतप । तव क्रोधान्महादेव न शान्तिमुपलेभिरे,शत्रुओंको संताप देनेवाले महादेव! ये सब देवता और ऋषि आपके क्रोधसे संतप्त होकर कहीं शान्ति नहीं पा रहे हैं
imā hi devatāḥ sarvā ṛṣayaś ca parantapa | tava krodhān mahādeva na śāntim upalebhire ||
Bhishma said: “For all these gods and the seers, O subduer of foes—O Mahādeva—scorched by your wrath, have found no peace. Your anger has become a consuming heat for the world, leaving even the highest beings restless until it is appeased.”
