Umā said: “O Blessed Lord, among all beings you surpass all others in majesty and excellence—endowed with virtues, unconquerable and unassailable, radiant in power, renowned in fame, and rich in auspicious fortune. Great-souled One, it grieves me deeply that in the sacrifice your rightful share has been forbidden in this manner. O Blameless One, at this insult my whole body trembles.”
महेश्वर उवाच
The verse underscores reverence toward the divine and the ethical weight of honoring rightful due (bhāga) in ritual and society; denying honor to the worthy becomes a moral fault that causes distress and can precipitate conflict.
Umā addresses the Lord, praising his unsurpassed qualities and expressing anguish that, in a sacrifice, his share has been prohibited; she feels the dishonor so intensely that her body trembles.
