Kapila explains that the substances arising from the cow are essential constituents of sacrificial work, and that sacrifice itself is declared by the Vedic revelation (śruti) to be a foundational support for the world’s stability. With ghee, milk, curd, dung, the milk-preparation called āmikṣā, and even hide, the cow becomes a means by which ritual duties are fulfilled. Therefore, each of these items should be duly gathered and employed in the manner prescribed by sacred rule.

Kapila teaches that yajña, grounded in śruti, is a sustaining principle for worldly order, and that the cow’s products are legitimate, prescribed means for fulfilling ritual duty; one should procure and use them according to scriptural injunction.
In a didactic discourse within Śānti Parva, Kapila is explaining the ritual and ethical significance of yajña, listing cow-derived substances (like ghee, milk, curd, dung, āmikṣā, hide) as components used in sacrificial practice and urging their proper, rule-based collection and use.
