Thus ends the two hundred and twenty-fourth chapter of the Gokṣa-dharma section within the Śānti Parva of the Śrī Mahābhārata, concerning the dialogue between Bali and Indra. This colophon marks the completion of the unit, framing the foregoing exchange as instruction in dharma conveyed through their conversation.

This line functions as a colophon: it signals that the preceding material is a dharma-oriented teaching presented through the Bali–Indra dialogue, and it formally closes the chapter within the Śānti Parva’s instructional framework.
The text is not advancing the story here; it is marking the end of a chapter—specifically, the completion of the 224th chapter on the subject of the conversation between Bali and Indra within the Gokṣa-dharma subsection of the Śānti Parva.
