Adhyāya 222 — ब्रह्मस्थानप्राप्ति: मोक्षधर्मे समत्वव्रतम्
Attaining the Brahman-Station: The Vow of Equanimity in Mokṣadharma
स तदाभ्यर्च्य दैत्येन्द्र त्रलोक्यपतिरी श्वरः । असुरेन्द्रमुपामन्त्रय जगाम स्वं निवेशनम्

Having then duly honored the lord of the Daityas, the sovereign ruler of the three worlds, Indra, paid reverence to Prahlāda. After taking leave of the king of the Asuras and receiving his assent, Indra departed for his own abode—Svarga. The episode underscores a moral ideal: even a powerful ruler should show respect to merit and righteousness wherever it is found, and should act with courtesy and proper leave-taking rather than arrogance.
प्रह्माद उवाच
Power is not a license for pride: a righteous ruler honors virtue even in an opponent and follows proper conduct—showing respect, seeking consent, and departing without hostility.
Indra, described as the lord of the three worlds, honors Prahlāda (lord of Daityas/Asuras), takes his leave with permission, and returns to his own abode, Svarga.
