Adhyāya 214: Tapas Redefined—Perpetual Discipline, Hospitality, and the Ethics of Eating (तपः-निरूपणम्, विघसाशी-अतिथिप्रिय-धर्मः)

सुदुर्गमिव पन्थानमतीत्य गुणबन्धनम्‌ । यथा पश्येत्‌ तथा दोषानतीत्यामृतमश्लुते

As one crosses a path that is exceedingly hard to traverse, so does the man of ripened understanding pass beyond the bondage of the guṇas. And in whatever measure he beholds his own faults, in that very measure he oversteps them, and attains Amṛta—the supreme state of the Paramātman.
