Niraya and the Supreme Station: A Metaphysical Re-reading
इति श्रीमहाभारते शान्तिपर्वणि मोक्षधर्मपर्वणि भुगुभरद्वाजसंवादे नवत्यधिकशततमो<ध्याय:
iti śrīmahābhārate śāntiparvaṇi mokṣadharmaparvaṇi bhṛgubharadvājasaṃvāde navatyadhikaśatatamo 'dhyāyaḥ
Thus, in the Śrī Mahābhārata, within the Śānti Parvan—specifically the Mokṣa-dharma section—ends the dialogue between Bhṛgu and Bharadvāja, marking the conclusion of the one-hundred-and-ninetieth chapter (i.e., chapter 191 by this reckoning).
भरद्वाज उवाच
This line is a colophon rather than a doctrinal verse: it signals the textual setting (Śānti Parvan, Mokṣa-dharma) and closes the Bhṛgu–Bharadvāja dialogue, framing the preceding material as instruction oriented toward dharma and liberation.
The chapter concludes: the compiler’s closing formula identifies the work (Mahābhārata), the larger book (Śānti Parvan), the subsection (Mokṣa-dharma), and the interlocutors (Bhṛgu and Bharadvāja), and marks the end of the chapter.
