Bhishma said: “Those two young, unbroken calves, being firmly yoked together and led out for the purpose of training them to submit to the yoke, suddenly bolted. With a seated camel standing between them as they rushed, they charged forward in a reckless burst.”

The imagery underscores the need for dama (restraint): without training and self-control, raw strength and sudden impulse can cause harm and disorder, whereas disciplined guidance channels power toward rightful action.
Two untrained calves, yoked together and being taken out to be broken in for ploughing, suddenly bolt and rush forward, with a seated camel positioned between them as they charge.
